We’ll help you find your path

TEACHER LEADERSHIP

We are committed to identifying opportunities to widen the skill-set of our teachers and expand their impact beyond the classroom. Through various Teacher Leadership roles, team members are able to learn new skills through specialized  professional development specific to their role.

Teachers and staff have a variety of leadership roles they can apply to—offering them the chance to learn new skills and responsibilities, and expand their impact beyond their current focus and individual school. For the 2023/24 school year, there are seven available leadership roles—ranging from mentoring peers, leading change initiatives, leading efforts to expand digital instructional practices within their buildings, to managing school-based devices. Each role includes professional development, a cohort model, and compensation ranging from $1,000 to $7,000 annually based on the role.

ASPIRING LEADERS ACADEMY

The Aspiring Leaders Academy is a year-long leadership development cohort providing quality content, hands-on learning opportunities, mentorship, and coaching to prepare high-potential teachers for future school or district leadership roles. Participants of the ALA cohort attend monthly professional development where they learn from leaders across the district. Previous participants of the Aspiring Leaders Academy have gone on to lead IPS schools.
